Position Summary:

The Vice President, Marketing, is the Tech CU officer responsible for all the marketing functions of the Credit Union, including: Market Research, Analysis and Reporting; Web Content Management; Copywriting and Corporate Publications; Social Networking Channels; Advertising/Promotion; Event Management; and Direct Sales Support Activity at participating company locations, within the retail branch environment, in the local professional community, and through member education.
The Vice President, Marketing will work with the CEO and the CBO in branding and promoting the public image of Tech CU and in broadening the member base for Tech CU’s quality products and services. In collaboration with the Member Facing Divisions , the incumbent will recommend marketing strategy; develop annual marketing goals, objectives and campaigns; assist in product development; and plan and coordinate events. This position is responsible for the planning, execution and effectiveness of the overall marketing program of the Credit Union. This position plays a strong role in Tech CU's annual business planning process.

Responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
Provides general direction for and executes on market research; advertising/promotion; print, web and social media content; product development; branding, public image and member education.

Is responsible to the CEO and Board of Directors for marketing operations in accordance with Credit Union laws and regulations. Establishes and maintains a system of internal controls and security measures to insure maximum safety and soundness, consistent with operating objectives and maintenance of Credit Union resources.

Directs the development and recommendation of annual marketing plans and budgets needed to meetthe Credit Union's annual goals and objectives.

Develops and coordinates plans and programs in collaboration with and in support of the sales and service units of the Credit Union.

Plans and develops new business and product development programs in collaboration with the Line units to broaden/better serve the membership base, to promote the increased use/value of member services and products, and to maximize the financial results for the Credit Union and its members.


Participates, along with other Tech CU officers, in promoting the image of Tech CU and the credit union philosophy in the companies and geographic markets served by the Credit Union.

As appropriate, attends community events, presentations and conferences, including various financial services industry conferences.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS
Establishes scope of authority and responsibility for direct reports.
Engages with direct reports and peers to align goals, establish performance metrics, provide feedback and develop talent.
Creates/manages/monitors budget to maximize operating efficiencies.
Reviews and responds to concerns raised about the Department identified in audit/regulatory reports.
Supports established policy & procedures; recommending changes as needed.

Meets on a monthly basis with own manager to discuss goal alignment, performance metrics, and development plans.
Adheres to Policy & Procedure put forth in the employee handbook; upholds employee Code of Conduct/Ethics, and ensures confidentiality of the workplace.
The employee will comply with all rules and regulations as defined by applicable regulatory agencies. The employee will also adhere to all internal controls and security measures designed to ensure regulatory compliance with State and Federal laws.

Qualifications:

Typically has at minimum:

Education: Bachelors’ Degree, preferably with a marketing/business focus, is required. A Masters’ Degree is preferred or specialized courses in business or financial management necessary to develop and maintain management proficiency.

Experience: 5 to 10 years’ increasing experience in related disciplines, including marketing administration, advertising/promotion, web and social media channels, and public relations, in a financial services environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong managerial, planning, presentation and business writing skills. Strong sales and service, teamwork and collaboration, and employee development orientation.
• Thorough knowledge of marketing and sales management, member/customer relations, and financial institution/credit union products, services and delivery systems.
• Given Tech CU’s focus on the technology and knowledge-based community; knowledge of that specific community is desired.

Travel: Holds a clear & valid California Drivers’ License. Possess current automobile insurance. Willingness to drive one’s own auto to conduct Credit Union business. Applicable IRS mileage reimbursement rate will be provided for credit union approved business travel.

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit at least 85% of the day. Keyboard and read computer screen up to 75% of time during which one is seated.
