Senior Financial Center Specialist, Santa Teresa

Provides transaction/cash management/account opening/loan services. Models quality service and supports all elements of the Service Level Agreement. Resolves escalated member issues. Provides support and coaching to Financial Center staff, including goal attainment. Works in conjunction with the manager to ensure smooth running of the office. If designated as Business Banking Specialist for the Financial Center the incumbent will provide Business Banking services to clients and support initiatives within the branch.
Cash management duties including: cash orders and maintenance of cash limits for all staff including self. Audit signature cards and loan files. Monitor staff Relationship Management and Workflow queues. Work with department managers to resolve underwriting/loan issues. Ensure safety and security for staff and members. Perform audit duties and work with VP Internal Audit as required. Open and close the Financial Center as requested. Handle staff scheduling and prepare regular reports for manager. Coach and motivate the staff to achieve individual and department goals. Provide feedback to manager regarding staff performance.
Accurately process all member transactions with efficiency and appropriate discretion.
Follow through on resolving member issues or concerns. Balance individual cash drawer at night and ensures proper handling of cash and negotiables. Open new member accounts and loan products. Ensures all sales referrals are correctly entered into the sales/referral tracking system during the same day or prior to opening /funding of the product. Build client relationships by making calls and reaching out to members. Adhere to Tech CU policies and procedures in all work.
Can accurately explain benefits and features of Tech CU products. Can identify members with the greatest potential and contacts them. Define the member needs, explain solutions, recommend action and handle resistance in a consultative manner. Cross sell and refer appropriate products and achieves sales goals. Keep commitments to member, and follow up with member to ensure satisfaction. Participate in on-sites, and attend networking activities. Assist the Client Service Manager establish personal goals for improving sales performance and develop an action plan designed to achieve those goals.
Professional Training & Development
Participates in credit union professional training programs in consultation with own manager. Areas of focus include: compliance, product knowledge, soft skills, and attendance at staff and company-wide meetings.
Supports the Credit Union’s Mission & Vision and Lives the Tech CU Values (Accelerate, Collaborate, Innovate, & Cultivate).
Meets on a monthly basis with manager to discuss goal alignment, performance metrics, and development plans.
Adheres to Policy & Procedure put forth in employee handbook; upholds employee Code of Conduct/Ethics, and ensures confidentiality of the workplace.
The employee will comply with all rules and regulations as defined by applicable regulatory agencies. The employee will also adhere to all internal controls and security measures designed to ensure regulatory compliance with State and Federal laws.
Typically has at minimum:
Education: H.S. Diploma. Courses in related business areas necessary to maintain position
Experience: 3 to 4 years’ increasing experience in related disciplines, including sales, customer service policies, procedures and operations, in a financial institution.
Knowledge/Skills: Holds a current Notary Public commission or will acquire a Notary within the first six months of filling this position. Strong organization, verbal communications skills, quality service and team orientation required. Basic PC skills are necessary. Awareness of financial products and applications, rules, regulations, policies & procedures are essential.
Licensing: Must maintain registration with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) under Tech CU’s company registration.
Travel: Holds a clear & valid California Drivers’ License. Possess current automobile insurance. Willingness to drive one’s own auto to conduct Credit Union business. Applicable IRS mileage reimbursement rate will be provided for business/credit union approved business travel within Bay Area Counties: Alameda, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, San Mateo and Contra Costa counties.
Physical Requirements: The position requires standing for up to 4+ hours per day and keyboarding including repetitive arm/wrist/hand motion. Also required is reading a computer screen for 70% of the day. Often kneeling, bending or stooping to reach lower drawers. Occasional to moderate lifting of drawers (25 pounds or less) is necessary.
Starting Pay Range:
$44K - $48K
